This special selection Teroldego is produced in the Maso Chini – a small sun kissed vineyard in front of the estate.
This vineyard measuring only 2800 m2 is in the heart of the estate, the private garden, always picked and treated separately because considered one of the best terroirs of the area. The vines aged over 40 are grown in the traditional double pergola system and nursed with great care. They have a very low yield producing approximately 45tons per ha.
Our chardonnay plot is situated on the border with Alto Adige, where about 3200mt2 of vines were planted in 1960. We produce around 18 Htl or 2400 bottles.
Our Teroldego is produced in the historic vineyards at the edge of the estate The vines are carefully pruned, the clusters thinned appropriately so as to obtain a perfect balance between yield and quality and when ready in the early morning the grapes are harvested by hand and transported with the utmost care.
Our single barrel is made from Teroldego grapes harvested in our best vineyard. This is the youngest wine in our selection and the most representative of the blend. Fresh, intense and varietal it expresses the typical characteristics of young Teroldego Rotaliano Classico: aromas of small red fruits, redcurrants, raspberry and cherry followed by balsamic spice.
The grapes are not usually harvested early as for some rosé wines but are allowed to mature naturally with all the advantages of the late summer and are picked in September.
Why Artinelli? The Arts have always held a special place in our family. The Chardonnay grapes belong to our Aunt Giovanna Martinelli, an artist and designer. We thought this special reserve wine deserved a unique look so we decided to commission a different label each year from our big circle of artist friends. So as well as an exclusive wine, we offer a limited edition bottle. Collect them all!
